Rate Field guide

The White Sox ballpark guide is the Rate Field rule. A clear bag up to 12 by 12 by 6 inches is the large-bag limit, and a single serving of food can come in with it.

There is no White Sox home game in this week’s file. The 2026 season is over.

Bag policy

Permitted bags are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC no larger than 12 by 12 by 6 inches, including a one-gallon freezer bag, if hardware does not hide any part of the bag. A non-clear clutch may be 9 by 5 by 2 inches or smaller. Diaper bags are allowed when a child is present, and medical bags are allowed. Both are subject to extra search.

Prohibited bags include any non-clear bag larger than 9 by 5 by 2 inches, backpacks including clear backpacks, coolers and ice chests, drawstring bags, luggage, computer bags, and any bag larger than 12 by 12 by 6 inches.

Outside food and drink

The guide says single-serving food may be brought in if it is in an approved bag or carried in hand so security can screen it. One factory-sealed plastic bottle, or one empty plastic bottle, no larger than one liter, is listed as permitted.

Alcoholic beverages may not be carried in. The disability-access guide says guests may carry food in a small clear plastic bag, and that an exception request starts at Gate 5 with a security supervisor.

Cheapest seating

The White Sox publish a seat map. That page does not rank sections by price, so this guide does not name a cheapest section.

Getting there by CTA

CTA lists the ballpark at 333 W. 35th St. The Sox guide says it is just off the Red Line Sox-35th station. CTA says that stop is a block west, and the Green Line 35th-Bronzeville-IIT stop is three blocks east.

Metra’s Rock Island District stops at 35th Street. Metra says to walk west on 35th Street to the ballpark.

Parking

The Sox guide says lots open two hours before every game except the home opener, prepaid passes save $10 versus day-of, and official staff take credit or debit cards only. It does not print the lot price in that section.

The parking page’s $25 and $27 figures were taken from search summaries, not a direct read of the lot page. Use them only with that caveat.
