South Loop sports bars

Soldier Field and Wintrust Arena are both on the south end of this neighborhood. The Staley and Weather Mark Tavern publish football game-day opening times. Weather Mark is also an official Fire partner pub.

The Sky season is over, and this list does not name a Sky bar. No one on this page was verified as a Sky headquarters.

    Fans Bears

    South Loop sports bar from former Bears defensive end Israel Idonije. The site says it is near Soldier Field, McCormick Place, and Museum Campus.

    Posted hours are Monday–Thursday 3–10 p.m., Friday 3–11 p.m., Saturday noon–11 p.m., and Sunday noon–10 p.m. The site says that when the Bears play at noon, the bar opens at 9 a.m.

    Official Chicago Fire partner pub. The tavern’s site calls itself a South Loop restaurant and sports bar and says Soldier Field is a short walk.

    Posted hours are Monday–Wednesday 4 p.m.–midnight, Thursday and Friday 11 a.m.–midnight, Saturday 10 a.m.–1 a.m., and Sunday 10 a.m.–midnight. Football game days at Soldier Field open at 9 a.m. Monday–Thursday, 4–6 p.m., the site says drinks and appetizers are specially priced. It does not list the prices.

    South Loop pub with tavern-style pizza, Polish plates, and Italian pasta. The site says 17 flat screens, including a large screen behind the bar and one on the patio, show sports.

    The site says the room opens every day at 11 a.m. Kitchen hours are Sunday–Wednesday until 10 p.m., Thursday until 10:30 p.m., and Friday–Saturday until 11 p.m.

    The bar’s events page calls it a South Loop sports bar. Hours and a team affiliation were not on that page.

    South Loop bar, grill, and music room. The FAQ names Soldier Field, Rate Field, McCormick Place, and Chinatown as nearby. It does not name a team allegiance.

    Bar hours on the contact page are Monday–Friday 11 a.m.–2 a.m. and Saturday 11 a.m.–3 a.m. The kitchen runs 11 a.m. to midnight. The FAQ says there is no dedicated lot.

Getting there by CTA

CTA says Soldier Field is a few blocks east of the Roosevelt stops on the Red, Orange, and Green Lines, about a 15-minute walk, or a short ride on the #146. The #128 Soldier Field Express serves Union Station and Ogilvie on the days CTA lists it.

Wintrust Arena is three blocks east of the Green Line Cermak-McCormick Place stop. The Red Line Cermak-Chinatown stop is about a 12- to 15-minute walk east, or a transfer to the #21.

Reggie’s own FAQ says the Red Line Cermak-Chinatown stop is one block west of the bar, and the Green Line stop is Cermak-McCormick Place.

Parking

Soldier Field’s parking note says Fire drive-up is $40 and that Bears-game rates were not verified. Lots named there are the North Garage, Waldron Deck, and South Lot.

Wintrust’s note says the Sky season is over. McCormick Place Lot A at 2301 S. Prairie Ave. is listed at $27 for up to 16 hours, Lot B at a flat $18, and Lot C at a flat $27.

Reggie’s says it has no lot. Its FAQ says State Street meters run 8 a.m.–10 p.m. and are free after 10 p.m.

Where do Bears fans watch near Soldier Field?

The Staley says it opens at 9 a.m. when the Bears kick off at noon. Weather Mark Tavern says it opens at 9 a.m. on Soldier Field football game days.

Is there a Sky bar in the South Loop?

Not on this list. Wintrust Arena is the Sky’s home court, and the season is over. None of these rooms was verified as a Sky bar.

How do I get to Soldier Field without a car?

Red, Orange, or Green Line to Roosevelt, then walk or take the #146. Metra Electric stops at Museum Campus/11th Street and 18th Street. The #128 is the Soldier Field Express from the downtown Metra terminals on the days CTA lists it.
